About the Farm and what we’re looking for:
2017 marks our 19th year of diversified organic (not certified) vegetable, fruit and flower production. In 2015 we fed 350 families through our summer CSA, 140 families through our fall CSA, and 60 families through our spring CSA, as well as onsite farm-stand, farm store, and restaurant sales. Looking for hardworking, enthusiastic, self-motivated team players, serious about farming, with a positive attitude, stamina to work 10 hour days, move 50# bags, follow directions and pay attention to details, while having a good time for our Field Crew and Harvest positions. We value those looking to stay with us into the future to build a greater understanding of what we do here, and thus become an asset to our farm.
Tracie’s Community Farm is located in the Monadnock region of NH, on 33 acres most of which is prime agriculture soil, classified as Becket fine sandy loam. We are 20 minutes from Keene, 40 minutes from Brattleboro VT and Northfield MA. We are 5 minutes from a beautiful lake where we go swimming on hot days, 10 minutes from Mt. Monadnock and many other great hikes in the area. We have a great community, with seasonal potlucks with live music and bonfires, many great contra dances in the area and other fun gatherings like pizza night at Orchard Hill where we get our freshly baked bread.
The only help we are looking for at this point are Work Shares who work in exchange for a share and help for the month of September. We are possibly open to a Tuesday and Thursday worker starting ASAP if you are the right fit.
Full Time Field Crew: Filled for 2017
April through September, we start at 7 a.m. and work till 4:30 p.m. (sometimes later when we are in a pinch but it is your option whether you want to or not). We do have positions starting in Mid May for those in college. October we start at 8 a.m. and work till 4 p.m. November-December we start and end depending on the weather and some of the crew works elsewhere as the season comes to a close.
We provide long term employment opportunities, hourly pay, potential housing rental on property, shares of the farm produce, and healthy, hearty lunches that crew members take turns making, Monday through Friday.
First season crew members start at $8 per hour, with one paid personal day during the season. Raises are based on merit/effort/efficiency. We also have end of the season bonuses based on how much the farm makes that season coupled with merit/effort/efficiency. This can significantly increase your income. Second season crew members receive 2 paid personal days, and third season crew members receive 3 paid personal days.
